Manmaneshwori Jatra

The historic Manmaneshwori Payo Jatra (Festival), dating back to the Licchavi era, began on Ghatasthapana day with a special tantric ritual at Mahalaxmi Sthan, Lagankhel.

After a secret tantric ceremony at the Mul Chowk of Patan Durbar, the traditional Kharga Jatra was carried out from Lagankhel. Members of the guthi carried swords, circled the city, and concluded the ritual at the Mul Chowk.        <Program Schedule>
