Shree Panchami, also known as Saraswati Puja or Basanta Panchami, is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom, learning, knowledge, music and creativity, when people—especially students—offer prayers at homes and nearby Saraswati temples to seek her blessings, while also honoring Maha Manjushri(Bodhisattva), a symbol of supreme wisdom. The day is considered highly auspicious for children to begin writing letters, start school admission and for commencing education or creative work, believed to bring success and clarity of mind.
On Shree Panchami, devotees worship Goddess Saraswati in the morning before eating, offering prayers and learning tools to seek wisdom, knowledge and success.
