Tihar also known as Deepawali, is a five-day Hindu festival celebrated in Nepal with lights, colors and joy. Each day is dedicated to honoring animals like crows, dogs, cows, and oxen as well as worshipping Goddess Laxmi and strengthening the bond between brothers and sisters. Homes are decorated with oil lamps, rangoli and lights, while people enjoy traditional songs like Deusi-Bhailo and prepare special foods like Sel Roti. Tihar signifies prosperity, love and cultural harmony, making it one of Nepal’s most cherished festivals. It brings families together, spreading happiness and positivity throughout the country.

Especially among Newar community celebrate Nepal Sambat New Year and Mha Puja (self-worship).
